Tony T Sessions and Other Thoughts

Dear Friends,

Tonight I went to the Tony T Sessions at the Cha & Café in El Monte. It was a collaboration of multiple Musicians coming together for a night of music and food. Many of my friends performed tonight and a couple of new ones I don’t know. Phuong and I had a really good time. Unfortunately I didn’t take too many pictures, because I forgot my camera and relied on my phone, which was a huge mistake because the battery died on me after the third act.

Cha & Café kind of reminds me of the TV show Cheers, where everyone knows your name. It’s always a warm atmosphere whenever we go there. It always feels good, to be known, even though I am not a Musician.  I am just a Poet trying to make it out there in the rat race of the literary world.  These Sessions are good for those of us who miss going to the Tuesday Night Café when it’s in Hiatus. This gives us a chance to hang out with our friends for the rest of the year. Cha & Café is like another Tuesday Night Café, at a different location and day, but with a lot of the same people.

I bought a book from one of my Poet friends there tonight, he even signed my book to me and Phuong and he remembered that I was working on my own book of Poetry. Well, my friends, time to get this posted before the power goes off again because of this rain storm.
